Faulks' Bond book unlikely to hit big screen

Bond film bosses stimulate decided not to gain Sebastian Faulks' recent commemorative 007 playscript into a film.

Faulks, selected to write the book to mark Ian Fleming's centenary by the original Bond author's estate, is the source of historical novels such as 'Birdsong' and 'Charlotte Gray'.

The book, 'Devil May Care', is set in the Cold War and involves the international drugs craft, with action set in Rome, London and the Middle East.

According to PA, Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson said: "We love the book, merely because it is set in the 1960s, we haven't considered making it in the near future."

'Devil May Care' was a bestseller on its press release in May of this year.

The next Bond film, 'Quantum of Solace', is ascribable for release on 31 October.
